Dandi Beach & Salt March Memorial
One of India's most significant freedom struggle sites. On April 5, 1930, Mahatma Gandhi concluded the historic 24-day, 390 km Salt March here, breaking the salt laws. Today, it's a peaceful beach with a memorial, a Gandhi statue, and the historic salt pans. The beach offers serene sunset views and a chance to walk where history was made.
Know before you go: The beach is relatively undeveloped — carry water and snacks. Limited shade. Best visited in late afternoon for sunset. The memorial includes a small museum (check local timings).
